Pirates’ Ball

The Cape Cod Maritime Museum (CCMM) will hold its Pirates Ball on October 13. This night of revelry will take place on the outdoor back patio of the CCMM overlooking the Hyannis Harbor. Attendees can expect to dance to swashbuckling sounds played by a DJ, eat, drink and play pirate-themed games. Local comedian Preston “Captain Flapjack” Simpson will host the event 7-10 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $50 online, and costumes are encouraged.

All of the money raised will help fund the CCMM’s boat building program for at-risk youth. The Boat Yard Apprentice Certification School enables youths and adults to learn and apply STEM skills with the hands-on, interactive art of building boats. In the program the students also learn maritime skills, through workforce development education, which can lead to entry level employment at local boat yards.
