Boat handling programs

Buzzards Bay Sail and Power Squadron (BBSPS) and Alliegro Yachts present Boat Handling Programs: Classroom seminar & On the water on August 24 and 25.

This eight-hour training combines time in the classroom and time on the water where you are at the helm.  The 3-hour classroom seminar Friday evening provides explanations of how your boat handles and why.  Video clips let you visualize the maneuvers prior to you experiencing them on the water.

On Saturday, you take the helm and apply what you have learned. The 5-hour on-the-water exercises include the use of lines, departing a dock, operating in a fairway, pivoting, mooring, backing, docking, steering though a slalom course, holding a course, running a range and maneuvering in close quarters.
