America’s Boating Course

Buzzards Bay Sail and Power Squadron  (BBSPS) will offer America’s Boating Course (ABC) at Alliegro Yachts.

America’s Boating Course (ABC)

ABC covers the basics needed to operate a boat safely. The course includes rules of the road, safety equipment, anchoring, signaling, radio, trailering, personal watercraft, boat handling and more. This two-day course is for all ages and levels of experience.

ABC meets the national and Massachusetts Certification requirements (required for power boat operation by 12 – 15 year olds) and for operation by adults in neighboring states.  The program provides the fundamentals of safe boating for boaters of all ages.  Most boaters will benefit by a reduction in boat insurance premiums upon completion. The certificate is issued on the second day.  Upon successful completion of ABC, young boaters, ages 12-15 may qualify for their Massachusetts Operator’s Certificate. Applications will be completed and forwarded to the State for processing.
